Would you like smooth, hair-free skin forever?

Does electrolysis hurt?

Electrolysis is very comfortable.  It is impossible to destroy germinating hair cells without any sensation but most people find electrolysis treatments are very comfortable and they love the results.  Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others.  Adjustments can be made so that each electrolysis treatment is tailored to the needs and sensitivity of the client.  There are also over the counter topical creams that can be purchased to make electrolysis treatments even more comfortable.

How long does it take to achieve permanency with electrolysis?

The number of electrolysis treatments varies from person to person.  There are several factors involved such as hair growth cycles, the amount and thickness of the hair, previous use of temporary methods of hair removal, heredity, hormonal changes, certain medications and medical conditions.  Most people are pleased with the results as treatments progress, so even if full permanency has not been achieved, the skin begins to take on the smooth, hair-free appearance they desire.  It is important to follow the recommended treatment schedule to achieve the desired results.

How much does electrolysis cost?

Price is based on the amount of time scheduled.  A fifteen minute visit is $20.00, a thirty minute visit is $35.00, a forty-five minute visit is $45.00, and a one hour visit is $55.00.  If an appointment must be cancelled, it is asked that a 12-hour notice be given.  If a visit is missed without a phone call, the client will be charged for the full time scheduled.  When possible, tardy clients will receive the full amount of time they scheduled, however, if that is not possible they will be charged the full scheduled visit fee regardless of the amount of treatment time they receive.

Do you follow appropriate infection control precautions?

Yes.  The American Electrology Association with assistance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), developed Standards that are strictly adhered to in this office.  Only pre-sterilized, single-use, disposable probes are used.  A fresh pair of gloves is used for each electrolysis treatment.  A new pair of gloves are worn if treatment is interrupted.  All electrolysis equipment that comes in direct contact with the client is sterilized when possible or sanitized as directed by the manufacturer.

What do you mean by customer-focused?

Every client is important to me and so is their time.  The phone is not answered during treatments or consultations.  Time is allowed between electrolysis treatments so that phone calls can be returned and it allows a little time for the client to receive their full treatment even if they are running a couple of minutes behind schedule.  Clients have commented that they appreciate getting the full time that they have scheduled and that they are the focus of my full attention during the time that is reserved exclusively for them.

What exactly is a CPE?

A CPE is a Certified Professional Electrologist.  The American Electrology Association established this voluntary national board certification.  An extensive test is required to earn the CPE credential.  In addition, 75 hours of continuing education every five years is required to maintain the CPE status.  Licensed New Hampshire Electrologists are required to have ten hours of continuing education every two years.
